Terms of Service, Privacy Policy & Refund Policy

Last updated: August 22, 2026

Before you rely on this page: this is a general-purpose template, not legal advice, and it hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer. It's meant as a reasonable starting point for a small app selling a one-time purchase, not a finished legal document. Have an actual attorney review it — especially the governing-law section below, which is left as a placeholder — before treating it as your real policy, and update the contact email to one you actually monitor.
Terms of Service Privacy Policy Refund Policy

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Memorize More (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Description of service

Memorize More is a flashcard study tool. Free accounts get access to a limited set of built-in decks (some fully, some with a card-count cap) and can build their own custom decks. A one-time Premium purchase unlocks every built-in deck and additional features (Insights, Ultimate Quiz) for that account, permanently — there's no recurring charge.

3. Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide a real, working email address — we use it for account verification and, if you opt in, study reminders. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

4. Payment & Premium access

Premium is a single, one-time payment processed through Stripe, our payment processor — not a subscription, and not automatically recurring. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe handles all payment collection and storage. Once payment completes, Premium access is tied to your account for as long as your account exists, unless it's refunded (see the Refund Policy below) or your account is terminated under Section 8. If we ever change what's included in Premium or its price for new purchasers, that doesn't take anything away from an account that already has it.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to upload unlawful, infringing, or abusive content in your custom decks, attempt to bypass the free-tier limits by circumventing the API, or interfere with the Service's normal operation.

6. Your content

Custom decks and cards you create remain yours. By adding them, you give us the limited right to store and display them back to you as part of running the Service. We don't claim ownership of what you write, and we don't use it for anything other than showing it to you.

7. Intellectual property

The built-in decks, the Memorize More name, and the Service's design and code are owned by us or our licensors. Built-in deck content drawing on public-domain or freely-licensed sources is credited where applicable; you may not resell or redistribute built-in deck content as your own product.

8. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including abusive use; because Premium is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription, terminating an account for cause doesn't by itself entitle you to a refund of a past Premium purchase.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific study goals.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Memorize More won't be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced (e.g. by email or an in-app notice) before they take effect.

12. Governing law

[Placeholder — fill in: "These terms are governed by the laws of ___ (state/country), without regard to its conflict-of-law rules." This should match where your business is actually formed/operated, and a lawyer should confirm it's appropriate for your situation.]

Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

Your email address and a hashed (not plaintext) version of your password; your study progress (which cards you've marked know/still-learning, and when); any custom decks and cards you create; and basic usage data needed to run the Service (like session tokens and login timestamps).

2. Payment information

If you purchase Premium, your payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We receive a confirmation that you paid and a Stripe customer/payment ID — never your full card number, which Stripe collects and stores directly.

3. How we use your information

To run the Service (show you your decks and progress), to verify your account and send optional study-reminder emails (you can turn these off anytime in Settings), and to process your Premium purchase. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use your custom deck content for anything besides showing it back to you.

4. Cookies & session data

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Third-party service providers

We share the minimum data necessary with: Stripe (payment processing) and Resend (delivering verification and reminder emails). Both process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.

6. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us (see below) — we'll remove what we're not legally required to retain (e.g. billing records).

7. Your rights

You can review and correct your account email in Settings. To request a copy of your data or full account deletion, email us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA) — contact us to exercise them.

8. Children's privacy

The Service isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be announced before they take effect.

Refund Policy

Premium is a single, one-time payment — there's no subscription to cancel and nothing recurs. This section covers what happens if you'd like your money back instead.

Requesting a refund

If you're not happy with Premium, or believe you were charged in error, email support@memorizemore.com and we'll review it case-by-case. This doesn't limit any refund rights you have under the law where you live.

What happens if you're refunded

A refund removes Premium access from your account — it goes back to the Free tier as soon as Stripe processes the refund, and we'll email you a confirmation when that happens. Your account, custom decks, and study progress are never deleted as part of a refund.
